If you’ve just purchased a Trezor hardware wallet or are in the process, you’ve likely found yourself at Trezor.io/start. This hub is designed to take you from unboxing to managing your first crypto assets, securely and confidently. Here's everything you need to know—from installation to peace of mind.
Head to Trezor.io/start and plug your Trezor device into your computer using the USB cable. You’ll be guided to install the Trezor Suite app—available for desktop or web. From start to finish, the whole process takes about 15 minutes.
Once connected, the first order of business is a security check:
Ensure the packaging is intact, and the holographic seal is untampered.
Only proceed once you're sure the device hasn’t been compromised.
Trezor devices ship without firmware. The Suite app will prompt you to install the latest version—simply click “Install firmware.” Once completed, hit Continue, and you’ll be ready for the next step .
Here’s where your path splits:
Creating a new wallet: If this is your first Trezor, select Create new wallet.
Recovering an existing wallet: Opt for this if you already have a recovery seed.
Choose between the default Standard seed backup (24 words, with 12 or 18 optional) or the Advanced Shamir backup on the Model T .
Now comes one of the most critical steps:
Click Create backup in the Suite app.
Your Trezor will generate a list of words—write them on the recovery seed card provided.
Confirm a few words on the device to validate your backup.
Model One: Generates a 24-word seed by default (12 or 18 also supported).
Model T: Defaults to 12 words but also offers Shamir backup .
Important: Never share this seed phrase or store it digitally. Keep it offline and safe!
After backup, you'll set a PIN using the device’s randomized matrix:
Click Set PIN in Suite.
Your Trezor shows a scrambled keypad; use your mouse to input the PIN blind.
Repeat the entry—this physical randomness ensures keylogging can’t steal your PIN .
Next, activate the coins you wish to use. Suite offers support for dozens of popular assets. Once selected, click Complete setup, and you're ready to go .
Click Access Suite, and you’ll arrive at the dashboard:
If you haven’t received any crypto yet, you’ll see a “Your wallet is ready” message.
Once funds arrive, you’ll view portfolio charts, balances, and account details .
From here, you can:
Receive: Generate addresses with on‑device verification.
Send/Swap/Buy: Use built‑in tools powered by Trezor and Invity.
Manage settings: Change PIN, passphrase, or add a custom homescreen image .
Trezor supports optional passphrase-protected wallets, creating hidden accounts that aren’t recoverable with just your seed. If someone gains access to your 24 words, they still can’t enter hidden wallets without the passphrase .
Need help through the whole process? Trezor offers a 60-minute one-on-one setup session for USD 99. A certified expert walks you live through setup, security measures, backup strategies, and best practices trezor.io.
Trezor.io/start is more than just a website—it’s where you begin your secure crypto journey. With guided firmware installs, seed backup, PIN protection, and optional expert support, Trezor makes robust security accessible.
In just about 15 minutes, you’ll take control of your crypto assets and manage them with confidence, all while keeping your keys offline and under your control.

Once configured, the Trezor Suite dashboard becomes your secure gateway to sending, receiving, trading, staking, and portfolio tracking—without ever exposing your private keys to the internet.
